Our fishing grounds

Vesterålen and Lofoten are the main spawning areas for North East Arctic cod. Eggs are spawned near the surface between February to April. In warm years, cod can be found further to the north and east. In 2007, they were found as far as 81˚ (north of Spitsbergen) and 56˚E (the southern tip of Novaya Zemlya.

Fishing method

Atlantic cod is caught with a bottom otter trawl (OTM).
